More than 10,000 turn out for Singapore's 1st MILO® MOE Youth TRYathlon 2009
MILO ® & MOE collaborate in grooming winners in Singapore's inaugural group of TRYathletes
(Singapore, wownewsasia.com, 7 Mar 2009) MILO® and the Ministry of Education (MOE) kicked off Singapore's first Youth TRYathlon™ @ Sentosa which saw a strong crowd of more than 10,000 turning up for the race on Saturday, 7 March. Over 2,300 students from throughout the nation signed up for the Youth TRYathlon(TM), organised with the aim of developing a sporting culture whilst inculcating a 'dare-to-try' attitude among our young in a fun and enjoyable environment.

MILO® , the co-title sponsor for this inaugural event has been a fore-runner in championing youth sports development in Singapore since 1950s. "MILO® aims to make this an annual sports event in Singapore and encourage more kids to participate, learn and enjoy." MILO® Brand Manager emphasizes passionately.

There were 4 categories in the event - 8 to 11 years; 12 to 15 years; 16 to 18 years & relay (all age groups). The TRYathlon(TM) has attracted many school kids to "try-out" a swim-bike-run race for the first time. "It's very fun as I've never tried something like this before. I'll definitely participate again next year." added exuberantly 16-year old Zhang Liting from Raffles Girls' School.
